Does my player have to be vaccinated for covid?

Fusion does not currently require our athlete's or our coaches to be vaccinated. We have adopted a return to play model that is similar to the public schools which can be found here. It should be noted that some tournaments this season, especially those hosted at Universities, may require proof of vaccination and/or proof of negative covid tests.

What are the benefits of playing club volleyball?

Typical high school seasons last about twelve weeks. Club volleyball gives the girls an opportunity to play organized volleyball for 5 months. It gives them extra time to improve their skills, stay fit for the upcoming high school season, and club volleyball is the platform for getting recruited by colleges.

Some other local clubs are more expensive, does this mean they are more elite?

Fusion is an elite club that has a carefully planned budget. We try to make club volleyball as affordable for everyone as possible while still giving your child quality coaching, athletic training, and exposure. Our Black teams are expected to continue to finish in the top 20 at Regionals  and travel to major tournaments providing them the most exposure to college recruits.  Weekly athletic training sessions are included in your team fee for our 14u through 18u players with A3. Your player's uniforms, backpacks, warm ups are all yours to keep as well. The only cost you will incur in addition to your team fee is your player's flight and hotel if she/he is selected onto a traveling team. We encourage you to research what programs offer as a part of your fees before trying out as many clubs will have additional costs above your team fee.

My daughter plays basketball and softball for her High School; can she still play club volleyball?

Yes, CC Fusion respects and accommodates school sports as well as other school activities. We try to host practices on days and times that will minimize conflicting schedules. However we realize that there may still be conflicting schedules and advise that the player should be able to commit to at least 90% of the club activities.

How long does the club season last?

For CC Fusion the club season begins in late November and ends in April or May depending on your team.

How often are Practices and where are they held?

Practices are held a minimum of two times per week at Gaiser, Thomas Jefferson,  and Heritage High School,. Hockinson Schools and other gyms in the Vancouver area are used when needed. In addition to  your two practices a week, our 14u through 18u players will also receive athletic training as a team with the professionals at A3 with the option of also attending Open Training Sessions as individuals. These sessions will conclude prior to the High School spring sports season.

How much playing time can we expect for our child?

CC Fusion would love to provide equal playing time for your daughter, however, this is not a realistic expectation. Playing time is dependent on the prior week's practices, skill development, team dynamic, team needs, etc. Every player earns their playing time on the court during practices and tournaments. On our higher level teams, playing time will be limited for some.
