2020-21 Season Covid Information

***Update 11/21/2020 -    All Fusion events have been postponed/cancelled until the restrictions are lifted. ***

State of Washington:  Guidelines announced by Governor Inslee on 11/15 indicate that all in-person, indoor sporting activities are prohibited, and this prohibition would last through December 14th.  Outdoor and virtual activities would still be allowed (and still can be sanctioned through USAV & CEVA).  The guidelines further state that gyms are closed for indoor operations.   The full guidelines can be found here.   Additional guidance can be found here.

We know that this is a challenging time for our entire community and that volleyball is one of the things that keeps us connected, grounded, fit, and busy. Fusion has always strived to make the health and safety of our athletes, coaching staff, and spectators a top priority. In seasons past we have acted accordingly, and have always done our best to ensure a quality, competitive season within this in mind.

Given our current health climate, government mandated shut downs, and the overall uncertainty of exposure to Covid-19, we feel that the most responsible choice for us is to restructure our season.  It is with care and caution that we have decided to proceed this club season with clinics, camps and private lessons rather than our typical team based program.  We will offer these as often as we can when we have access to facilities and can operate within official guidelines.

It is our belief that this will not only benefit the health of our community but will be an opportunity for our athletes to grow in our sport as individuals. Athletes will have a rare opportunity to work on their skills without the pressure of competition and rigorous travel schedules. The work we all put in this season will make us stronger for the next. Fusion has planned ahead personally and financially and will be returning full steam next season.

When not on the court, we will stay connected to our families with virtual offerings via social media and our current Group Me threads. We will continue to offer A3 Strength Training, positive performance mindset coaching, and discounted Sports Recruits memberships for high school athletes seeking recruitment.

We did not make this decision lightly and we understand the impact this has on our staff and our family of athletes. We want to assure you that Fusion is taking this time to make next season better than ever, and we are looking forward to welcoming you all without hesitation into a safe, stable, and high-quality season next year. As your board we promise you that the choices we make are for the benefit of our athletes first.

We appreciate the loyalty you have shown us.  We encourage our players, coaches, and families to pursue court and/or coaching opportunities in the ways that are comfortable.  If this means attending every camp, clinic, lesson and open gym that Fusion offers....awesome!  If this means reaching out to another club or organization we pledge to help you when we can and to welcome you back when you decide to come back to Fusion.
